FIELD HOCKEY FALLS AT NORTHEASTERN, 3-2, IN OT

DEDHAM, MA – Despite holding a 22-9 shot advantage and receiving two goals from freshman Yasmin Pratt, the Monmouth University field hockey team fell at Northeastern, 3-2, in overtime, Sunday afternoon at Dedham Field.

Northeastern scored off a penalty corner 7:23 into the game to earn the early lead before Pratt registered her first of the afternoon off a feed from Stefanie Bigler 10 minutes into the second quarter.

The Huskies regained the one-goal lead six minutes into the second half, via a corner, but Pratt and the Hawks answered 22 seconds before the end of the third.  The Hawks and Huskies played scoreless hockey in the fourth, forcing the extra session where Alli Meehan scored her second of the game to secure the victory for Northeastern.

- For the second year in a row, the Hawks played an overtime affair in their second game of the season.
