WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University head men's lacrosse coach
Brian Fisher announced the addition of Lewis Vaccaro to the program's coaching staff.
"Our staff remembered Lewis from a couple of years ago as a tough and competitive midfielder with a good lacrosse IQ when we coached against him," Fisher said. "Getting to know him this summer it was clear that he has a passion for the game and cares about taking the next steps in his coaching career. We are looking forward to the upcoming fall with Lewis on board and working with our guys."
A graduate of Canisius College, who earned his undergraduate and Master's degrees in Sport Administration, Vaccaro was a four-year letterwinner with the Griffs. He was named to the 2014 MAAC All-Rookie Team, he was a two-year team captain and was a three-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. As a graduate assistant for the 2017-18 school year, Vaccaro served as Canisius' Director of Lacrosse Operations.
During his time in Buffalo, Vaccaro worked for Buffalo Lacrosse Academy as a head coach and intern where he worked camps and clinics and coached the youth program during the summer months. Most recently, Vaccaro was an assistant coach at Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington, IL, where he mentored the top scoring offense in the country (19.39 goals per game). The team posted a 16-2 record, including a 6-0 conference mark, it's best season in program history.
