PLEASANTVILLE, NY – Monmouth University Baseball (15-23-1, 5-7) dropped the rubber game of a three-game set to Fairfield University (23-15, 11-4) on Saturday, 7-1.
Nick Campana (Downington, PA/Downingtown West) drove in the lone MU run in the game, which was played at Pace University in New York due to weather and field conditions.
Fairfield jumped to a 2-0 lead in the second on a Dylan Reynolds RBI single and a Tom Ryan sac fly, and added four more in the fourth, the big blow coming from Justin Guerrera with a two-RBI ground rule double. Campana singled in a Monmouth run in the seventh, but Guerrera responded with an RBI single in the eighth to make it 7-1 Stags, the eventual final.
