Irons gave up just one earned run in the two wins, striking out five total batters. Rosado went 2-for-3 with three RBI in game one, and Wozniak followed it up in game two going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Monmouth has now won three straight games, and improves to 8-6 on the season. The Hawks will head back down to Florida next weekend for USF's Spring Break Classic.

NOTES AND QUOTES

"Game one was a big win against Marshall. I thought we played well against them in the snow the other day, and we came out even stronger today. In both games today, we weren't worried about who got the credit, we just focused on pushing runs across. Alyssa had another strong day, and we had solid defense behind her. Marshall hurts a lot of opponents by getting speed on the bases, and I was happy to see us keep that to a minimum." – Monmouth head coach Shannon Salsburg

-In game one against Marshall, Monmouth struck in the first inning. Freshman Lindsey Baron led off the game with a walk, and advanced to second on a groundout. Rosado sent her home with an RBI single to right field.
-Monmouth extended its lead to 3-0 in the top of the third. Sophomore Katie Harrington induced a two-out walk to get things going and advanced to third after a stolen base and wild pitch. After Tomasetti walked and stole second, Rosado brought them both home with a single up the middle.
-In the bottom of the fourth, Marshall scored two runs on an RBI double and RBI single.
-Both teams stayed off the board until the top of the sixth. After junior Amanda Hopeck doubled, junior Deangie Jimenez singled to left field to give Monmouth the eventual 4-2 win.
-Irons allowed just five hits in the win, and shut out Marshall in the final three innings.
-In game two against Lafayette, Monmouth plated three runs in the top of the third. Baron doubled with two outs, and advanced to third after walks by Harrington and Tomasetti. Rosado walked with the bases loaded for the first run of the game, and Wozniak scored Harrington and Tomasetti with a single to left field.
-The Hawks added a run in the top of the fourth. Jimenez was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, and advanced to third after two-straight fielder's choices. She eventually scored when Baron reached on an error by the third baseman.
-Lafayette answered in the bottom of the fourth with three runs. The Leopards notched an RBI single and a two-RBI double, but the Hawks still led 4-3.
-Irons pitched three scoreless innings in relief, giving Monmouth the one-run win.
