Srdjan Jakovljevic of the Monmouth University men's tennis team has been named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league announced this afternoon.
Jakovljevic went 2-0 at No. 1 singles play and 2-0 at No. 3 doubles play over the weekend.
In Monmouth's 4-1 win over George Washington on Thursday, he earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles over Ryan Navarro and teamed up with
Sasha Pachnev to win 7-6 at No. 3 doubles.
A day later at Georgetown, the Hawks won 7-0, as Jakovljevic led the way with a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles over Connor Lee. He and Pachnev earned another win at No. 3 doubles by a score of 6-2.
The Hawks have won three straight matches, and have compiled a 5-1 record on the season. The team will continue play at Army this Saturday.
