NOTES AND QUOTES

"We had moments where we played well, and battled back a couple of times. Defensively, we were able to create some turnovers to get some momentum, but we just couldn't sustain it. We keep making poor decisions on offense and tur the ball over at inopportune times. We just weren't in sync on both ends of the floor. This was a frustrating loss." - Monmouth head coach Jody Craig

-After Monmouth scored on its first two possessions of the game, San Diego went on a 6-0 run to go ahead 8-4. Green ended the run with a deep three.
-The Toreros led 16-12 after the first quarter. Both teams shot 5-13 from the floor up to that point. USD went 6-8 from the free throw line, while Monmouth was 0-6.
-Five quick points from the Toreros early in the second quarter forced Monmouth to call a timeout. With 5:50 left in the second, San Diego led 23-16.
-Sophomore Jen Louro eventually ended a 7-0 San Diego run with a three from the corner. After a Jennings layup followed, Monmouth trailed 25-21.
-On three straight possessions, Monmouth got three-pointers from senior Rosa Graham, Jennings, and sophomore Lucy Thomas. The Hawks took a 30-29 advantage. A late layup from sophomore Alexa Wallace gave Monmouth a 32-29 lead at halftime.
-San Diego used an 8-0 run in the third quarter to go ahead 42-37, and later used a 9-0 run to go ahead 53-40.
