PALLADINO’S OT GOAL SENDS WOMEN’S SOCCER PAST SIENA

FINAL SCORE 2OT
Monmouth 1 (7-2-2, 5-0-0 MAAC)
Siena 0 (4-7-3, 2-2-1 MAAC)

LOUDONVILLE, NY – A brilliant run down the sideline by Sarina Jones set up Lexie Palladino's game-winning double-overtime goal for the Monmouth University women's soccer team in a 1-0 win over Siena on Wednesday afternoon at Siena Field.

The Hawks finally broke through 45 seconds into the second overtime to remain perfect in MAAC play and unbeaten on the road in 2019.

Monmouth controlled the possession through the entire first half and did not surrender a shot to Siena, while taking eight on the other end, including three on goal.

Just past the hour mark, Monmouth's Dana Scheriff had two opportunities that nearly broke the tie The first was a shot that missed just wide of the far post after she beat her defender, and then a header moments later that sailed over the crossbar.

Monmouth maintained the pressure and generated another excellent chance when Madie Gibson had a left-footed effort tipped over the bar by Siena goalie Taylor Dorado in the 74th minute.

Amanda Knaub became Monmouth's all-time leader in career shutouts with 37.
