WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University women's soccer team delivered a spectacular performance in a 6-0 shutout victory over Canisius on Saturday evening at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn.
Monmouth was persistent from the game's opening whistle as it built a 5-0 halftime lead behind an offensive onslaught. The Hawks took advantage of an own goal in the 11
th minute, then piled on consecutive goals by
Madie Gibson (Cape May, NJ / Lower Cape May) to make it 3-0 in the 22
nd minute.
Jesi Rossman (Phoenixville, PA / Phoenixville Area) and
Alexa Correa (Ramsey, NJ / Ramsey) each contributed their first goals of the season prior to intermission and
Lexie Palladino (Medford, NJ / Shawnee) scored 30 seconds into the second half to complete the scoring.
