NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The Monmouth University women's soccer team extended its winning streak to eight games with a 5-0 road win at Iona on Wednesday afternoon at Mazzella Field.
Madie Gibson (Cape May, NJ / Lower Cape May) gave Monmouth the lead in the 17
th minute and Monmouth never looked back. The Hawks scored four goals in the second half, and quickly put the game out of reach with two strikes in the first eight minutes after intermission.
Jess Johnson (Howell, NJ / The Hun School) scored on a long free kick 30 seconds into the period,
Dana Scheriff (Babylon, NY / Babylon) added a third seven minutes later and Monmouth got insurance goals from
Alexis Marino (Beaverton, OR / Southridge) and
A'Liah Moore (Manchester, NJ / Manchester Township).
