WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University women's soccer team remained perfect in MAAC play thanks to a decisive 3-1 win over Manhattan on Wednesday night at Hesse Field on the Great Lawn.
Monmouth built a 3-0 lead behind goals by
Dana Scheriff,
Maddison Perna and
Lexie Palladino before a late Manhattan score put Manhattan on the board.
Scheriff scored in the ninth minute off a one-touch feed by
Lauren Karabin and Monmouth controlled the match throughout. Perna's goal came quickly after halftime when she took a deflected cross and blasted it with her right foot past the Manhattan keeper. Palladino put the game out of reach with her fourth goal in as many games in the 74
th minute.
