WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University women's soccer team earned its first MAAC win of the season by virtue of a 9-0 victory over visiting Saint Peter's on Saturday evening at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn.
Head Coach Krissy Tuner earned her 250
th career victory in the win as Monmouth had six different players score in the win.
The Hawks built a 5-0 lead by halftime behind two goals each from
Madie Gibson and
Lexie Palladino. Palladino's second goal came less than two minutes after her first on a free kick from 20 yards out that found the upper right corner and made it 4-0. Freshman
A'Liah Moore scored her first-career goal to close the first-half scoring in the 41
st minute.
Alli DeLuca added to Monmouth's lead 90 seconds into the second half before a terrific header by
LeAnne Davis made it 7-0 in the 61
st minute.
Esther Wellman deposited her first goal and Moore scored her second of the night to run the final total to 9-0.

- Redshirt junior
Madie Gibson has scored against Saint Peter's in each of the three meetings during her career. Gibson has four goals in three career games against the Peacocks.
- Gibson recorded her first multi-goal game of 2018 and totaled five points. Gibson now has 22 goals, 21 assists and 65 points in her career.
- Her 65 career points are tied for 16
th in Monmouth history with Mary Wilks '11 and Jeannette Goepfert '92.

Lexie Palladino scored twice in a game for the second time in her career. She has four goals on the season and eight for her career.
- Palladino added an assist and her five point night increased her season and career totals to 9 and 22, respectively.

Esther Wellman each contributed a goal and an assist. DeLuca leads the Hawks with 10 points this season and Wellman's points were the first of her career.

- The last time Monmouth scored nine goals in a game was September 2, 2005 a 9-0 win at Saint Peter's.
- Monmouth scored five goals in the first half, the most since its scored seven in the opening half against Saint Peter's on October 1, 2016.
