LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Monmouth University women's soccer team opened Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play with a 1-0 loss to Rider on Sunday evening at Ben Cohen Field.
Rider scored the game's lone goal on a corner opportunity in the 11
th minute when Niamh Cashin's header found the back of the Monmouth goal. The service was sent into the far post and redirected back to Cashin by Meghan McCabe for the decisive header.
The Hawks finished the match with a 17-8 advantage in shots and an 8-2 corner kick margin.
