PHILADELPHIA, PA – After coming back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game in the 64th minute, the Monmouth University men's soccer team fell in overtime at Penn, 3-2. The Quakers scored just over a minute into the contest, and went ahead 2-0 after another tally in the 17th minute. Just over ten minutes later, Monmouth freshman Ramon Bernad scored his first career goal on a header. After the teams went scoreless for the next 35:40, junior Michael Luke picked up his second corner kick assist of the game, finding senior Luke Bromley for the equalizer. After 98:21 had passed on the clock, Penn took home the win, heading in the game-winner on a free kick. The Hawks drop to 0-3 on the season, and will look for their first win when they host Binghamton on Tuesday.

NOTES AND QUOTES
"The team showed a lot of character tonight coming back from a two goal deficit. At times, we played very well. We are still in a building process with quite a few new players, so games like this are great learning experiences. We will continue to stay tight as a group and move forward together." - Monmouth head coach Robert McCourt

-In the 17th minute, Penn extended its lead to 2-0 after capitalizing on a corner kick.
-Bernad cut the deficit in half in the 28th minute, as his header found the back of the net on a Monmouth corner kick.
-Luke picked up his second corner kick assist of the game in the 64th minute, as his ball found Bromley, who scored his third goal in a Monmouth uniform.
