WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ  – Despite holding the 19-8 advantage in shots, the Monmouth University men's soccer team could not get one across and tied Binghamton in double overtime Tuesday night, 0-0. The Hawks created multiple opportunities in the match and racked up eight shots on goal, but were unable to score. Redshirt freshman Sean Murray earned his first career shutout, saving four shots in 110 minutes. Monmouth's record advances to 0-3-1 on the season, and the team will travel to Princeton looking for its first win on Saturday.

-Freshman Ebenezer Owusu created a great chance in the 20^th minute, dribbling through three defenders and getting a shot on goal.
-In the 53^rd minute, freshman Ryan Keenan used a spin move near midfield to propel him into open space. His left footed strike was saved by the Binghamton goalkeeper.
-The Hawks nearly got on the board in the 72^nd minute, as Keenan's run to the near post was stuffed at the goal line.
-In the 88^th minute, freshman Ramon Bernad almost capitalized on a bicycle kick, but his shot was headed away at the goal line by a Binghamton defender.

NUMBERS CRUNCH
- Keenan led the team with four shots.
-Senior Luke Bromley totaled three shots in the tie, while senior Zachary Pereira and sophomore Anes Mrkulic each tallied two.
-Monmouth held a 12-5 advantage for corner kicks.
-The Hawks still lead the Bearcats 1-0-1 in the all-time series. This was the first matchup since 2010.
