MEN’S SOCCER FALLS TO DENVER IN SEASON OPENER

Denver (1-0-0) – 4
Monmouth (0-1-0) – 0

DENVER, CO – Led by Andre Sinyashinki's three first-half goals, Denver defeated the Monmouth University men's soccer team in the 2018 season opener, 4-0. Redshirt freshman Sean Murray made eight saves in his collegiate debut for the Hawks, including multiple from close range. Monmouth's best chance came in the 37th minute, when freshman Ebenezer Owusu dribbled past several defenders to the Pioneers' endline and crossed it to senior Zach Pereira, whose header went just high. The Hawks fell to 0-1-0 on the season, and will host Lafayette on Tuesday. Last season, Monmouth compiled a 6-1-1 record at Hesse Field on the Great Lawn.
