WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Alli DeLuca's goal in the 26th minute lifted the Monmouth University women's soccer team past Bucknell on Friday night at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn.

The Hawks dictated the action in the opening 45 minutes and took the lead when DeLuca pounced on a loose ball inside the Bucknell six-yard box. A pass from Jessica Johnson led to a volley by Madie Gibson that ricocheted off the post where DeLuca capitalized on the opportunity.

Monmouth outshot the Bison 11-3 in the period and earned their second clean sheet of the young season.
