Srdjan Jakovljevic). Jakovljevic was the first to finish in singles play, earning the 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2. Giuffrida's opponent retired at No. 6 singles, so the Hawks needed just one more singles win to clinch the title. Gomez Estrada and MAAC player of the Year
Nicola Pipoli were both one game away, and Gomez Estrada eventually took the win at No. 3 singles to clinch the championship, 6-2, 6-3. He was later named MAAC Most Outstanding Player. After a perfect 7-0 conference record during the regular season, the Hawks defeated Fairfield 4-0 in the semifinals and Marist 4-0 in the championship. Monmouth has won 11 straight matches heading into the NCAA Tournament.
