PRINCETON, NJ  – An offensive explosion that included four RBI from senior Alex Holzman and three RBI from sophomore Kayla Rosado propelled the Monmouth University softball team to its fifth straight win at Princeton on Tuesday, 13-7. The Hawks drew a program-record 14 walks on the afternoon, and were hit by four additional pitches for 18 free bases. Sophomore Sam Tomasetti also launched a home run, crushing a ball to center field in the top of the second. Sophomore pitcher Megan Stauffer earned the win, tossing 2.2 innings in relief and giving up just two hits and one run. The Hawks even up their record at 13-13, and return to conference play on Saturday, April 14 against Manhattan.
