FRESNO, CA – In two games today, the Monmouth University softball team fell to #17 California, 13-1, before falling to host Fresno State, 10-4. Sophomore Sam Tomasetti launched her first home run of the season for Monmouth's lone run against California, and senior Katie Baron led the Hawks at the plate against Fresno State, hitting a two-run home run and an RBI double. Baron's homer in the top of the fifth made it a 7-4 deficit, but the Bulldogs scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to seal the win. Monmouth drops to a 6-8 record on the season, and will remain in California for seven more games from March 14-18.
