FIELD HOCKEY FALLS IN OT AT WILLIAM & MARY, 3-2

WILLIAMSBURG, VA – Senior Georgia Garden Bachop registered her second goal of the game with 6:31 left, but William & Mary scored just two minutes later before connecting on the game-winner 5:51 into overtime, Wednesday afternoon in the NCAA Tournament opening round at Busch Field.

With the victory, the Tribe advance to take on North Carolina, the top-overall seed, while the Hawks' concludes their season at 13-7.

Garden Bachop got the scoring started in the seventh minute when she capped off a feed by Kelly Hanna at the far post to put the Blue and White up a goal.  Annie Snead answered for the Tirbe in the 23rd minute, tipping in a shot off a corner to eventually enter the break tied at one. 

Senior Elyssa Okken set up Garden Bachop in the 64th minute to give Monmouth its second lead of the afternoon, but Estelle Hughes and Woodard Hooper's goals secured the victory for the Tribe.

Kate O'Hogan made 10 saves in defeat, a new career high.

- Monmouth made its third trip to the NCAA (2014, 2016, 2018). 
- The Hawks fall to 0-3 in the national tournament, dropping all three games by one goal.
- Georgia Garden Bachop finishes the season with a 10-game point streak.  The senior registered her fifth multi-goal game of the season. 
- Garden Bachop finished the year with 18 goals, tied for second all-time in a single season.  She finishes her career with 33 goals and 76 points, both top-10 marks.
- With her assist, Kelly Hanna registered a point in the 11 of the final 13 games.  Her ninth assist of the year gives her 80 career points in a Monmouth uniform, the eighth player all-time to reach the 80-point mark.
- Elyssa Okken finishes her career-best season with 14 points.  She ends her career with 28 points.
- Gab Girardi started her 59th consecutive contest in the midfield.
- Kate O'Hogan, eclipsed her previous season high of eight with her first double-digit save total.  The rookie finishes the year 9-2 in cage.

NUMBERS CRUNCH
- William & Mary outshot the Hawks 20-10, including 4-0 in the overtime period.
- The Tribe had three corners, compared to just one for the Hawks.
- Garden Bachop led the team with seven shots, with her two on cage finding the back of the cage.  Annick van Lange registered two attempts.  

Senior Class
Today marked the final game for the graduating class of Georgia Garden Bachop, Elyssa Okken, Kelly Hanna, and Gab Girardi.  The class, who won four consecutive MAAC Regular Season Championships and made two NCAA appearances, won 53 games, finishing tied for first all-time.
