ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Monmouth University men's tennis team opened its 2018-19 season at Navy's Joe Hunt Invitational this weekend, racking up several wins at all positions. Senior Srdjan Jakovljevic won the No. 1 singles 'Blue' Flight, earning four straight wins. Freshman Austin Klapman won the No. 5 singles 'Green' Flight with three straight wins after a bye. In the No. 1 doubles 'Blue' Flight, Jakovljevic along with teammate Will Cooke Wharton took home the championship after going 4-1. Junior Max Benaim took home second place in the No. 2 singles 'White' Flight, winning three straight before falling in the championship. The Hawks will continue competition on the weekend of October 11 at the ITA Northeast Regionals.
