HAMDEN, CT – Rachelle Ross scored twice in the first half to lead the Monmouth University women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Quinnipiac on Saturday afternoon at the Quinnipiac Soccer Stadium.
Monmouth didn't waste any time and converted the game's first chance 70 seconds after the opening whistle.
Madie Gibson collected the ball near the corner of the Bobcats' penalty area and navigated to the end line before sending a cross to the top of the six-yard box. Ross was there to one-time a shot into the upper near corner to make it 1-0.
Gibson and Ross combined again in the 35
th minute when Gibson sent a lofted cross from the left side to the far post, where Ross met the pass with a volley that doubled the Monmouth lead.

Amanda Knaub finished with three saves to extend her shutout streak to five games.

Amanda Knaub secured her eighth shutout of the season and her 17th career clean sheet with three saves. The sophomore keeper made her 24th straight start.
