WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Behind
Dana Scheriff's goal late in the first half, the Monmouth University women's soccer team edged Rider, 1-0, on Wednesday night at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn.
The highly competitive match saw action on both ends of the field from the opening whistle, but it was Monmouth that broke through in the 41st minute when Scheriff ran onto a bouncing ball and headed it past the emerging Rider keeper for the eventual game-winning goal.

Lexie Palladino each had scoring chances after intermission, and
Amanda Knaub was active off her line as she collected her fourth consecutive shutout in goal for the Hawks.
