Ale Gomez Estrada traveled to the Ivy-Plus Invitational at Princeton while junior
Alberto Giuffrida, sophomore
Sergio Martinez, sophomore
Max Benaim, and freshman
Will Wharton competed at the Joe Hunt Invitational at Navy.
NOTES
-At Princeton, Pipoli and Gomez Estrada won two matches in the "Jadwin Doubles" portion, defeating Princeton, 8-5, and Buffalo, 8-7.
-Pipoli fell to Columbia's Jackie Tang in the singles "Tiger Draw", 6-4, 1-6, 5-7. On Saturday, Pipoli fell to Dartmouth's Charlie Broom by a score of 4-6, 2-6. In the singles "Cordish Draw", Gomez Estrada dropped a match to Brown's Charles Tan, 2-6, 5-7.
-At Navy, the "A" doubles team of Giuffrida and Benaim earned 7
th place after winning two matches.
-In the "A singles" bracket, Martinez won his first match in the consolation bracket against Christopher Newport's David Reed by a score of 6-3, 6-4. He would eventually take 11
th place after defeating Mary Washington's Matt Miles. Giuffrida placed 15
th with a consolation win against Saint Bonaventure's Victor Blanco.
-After dropping the first "B singles" match, Benaim won the consolation match against Georgetown's Marco Lam, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. Benaim later took 11
th after defeating Navy's Gabriel Pilones, 6-0, 6-1.
-In the "C singles" bracket, Wharton won two matches right off the bat, and eventually took 3
rd place with a 7-6 (3), 6-3 win over Georgetown's Josh Marchalik.
-Martinez and Wharton teamed up in the "B doubles" portion, but were defeated in the first two matches.
