MT. PLEASANT, SC – After the College of Charleston scored on a penalty kick in the 49^th minute, the Monmouth University men's soccer team rattled off nine shots in the second half but couldn't find the equalizer on Sunday night to fall 1-0. The Hawks leave South Carolina with a 1-1 record after defeating Georgia Southern on Friday, and will take on Penn next Friday for their first home match.

-Sophomore Geoff Schaefer made his seventh career start and played all 90 minutes.
-Midfielders John Antunes and Jake Areman were named to the Aaron Olitsky All-Tournament Team following the match.

NUMBERS CRUNCH
-The Hawks earned 10 corner kicks, while allowing the Cougars to take just one.
-Monmouth registered 11 total shots on the night, while College of Charleston had nine.
-Antunes led the team with four shots, with Colin Stripling and Schaefer each adding two.
-Junior goalkeeper Bobby Edwards made three saves on the night, narrowly missing the stop on the penalty kick and giving up his first goal of the season.

The Hawks will return home for the first game at Hesse Field on the Great Lawn next Friday. Monmouth will play host to Penn at 7:00 PM.
