PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Monmouth University women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 21 Rutgers on Sunday afternoon at Yurcak Stadium.

Rutgers jumped out to an early lead in the eighth minute by taking advantage of a penalty kick as Taylor Aylmer's shot beat Amanda Knaub to her right. The hosts doubled their lead with 32 seconds remaining in the first half when Kenie Wright slotted a shot inside the far post after a run down the left sideline.

Rutgers added two more goals in the second half to run the final score to 4-0.

"This game exposed some of the things we need to work on. We need to accept the result and learn so we can be more prepared for conference play in a few weeks.
