Monmouth defeated Niagara, 1-0, and Siena, 3-1, prior to knocking off the Jaspers in the title game. The Hawks earned the top seed in the MAAC Tournament after going 9-1-0 during the conference regular season.
The Tigers, ranked No. 13 in the nation, are making their 12th NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2015. Princeton has won its first-round match in each of its last two NCAA tournaments, at West Virginia in 2012 and at home against Boston College in 2015.
Scouting Princeton

The Tigers went 6-1 in conference play, including winning the final three games of their season to finish at the top of the Ivy League standings. Princeton has outscored its opposition 6-1 over the three-game winning streak and 36-6 on the season.
Sophomore forward Abby Givens scored nine goals this season en route to earning first-team All-Ivy League honors. She was a two-time Ivy League Player of the Week honoree this season and registered three two-goal games this season, including in the 3-0 win over Monmouth on Aug. 25.
Monmouth Notes
Monmouth returns to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season and makes its fifth appearance overall. Last year, Monmouth scored its first NCAA Tournament goal in a 4-1 loss at Virginia. Previously, the Hawks played at Penn State (L, 3-0) in 2013 and also faced the Nittany Lions in 2007, a 4-0 loss in State College, Pa., prior to a 4-0 setback at Maryland in 2009.
Monmouth won its seventh conference tournament title overall (NEC - 1995, 1996, 2007, 2009) and third as a member of the MAAC (2013, 2016, 2017). The Hawks became the first team to repeat as MAAC Champions since Loyola Maryland in 2003 and 2004.
Monmouth has won six consecutive games heading into the NCAA Tournament. The six-game winning streak is Monmouth's second six-game winning streak of the 2017 season. Monmouth has had a five-game winning streak in each of the last five seasons.
Monmouth's 15 total wins are the most since 2013 when the team went 17-2-2.
Monmouth completed its MAAC regular season with a 9-1-0 record to capture the top seed with 27 points and its fifth straight MAAC Regular Season Championship. Monmouth has won nine MAAC games in four consecutive seasons.
Allie Girardi was named the 2017 MAAC Championship Most Outstanding Player.
Madie Gibson,
Lexie Palladino and
Miranda Konstantinides were named to the All-Tournament Team. Gibson earned her second All-Tournament team selection and Konstantinides adds her award after being named the 2016 MAAC Tournament MVP.
Monmouth is 13-0-0 in 2017 when scoring the first goal of the game.
For the second straight season,
Krissy Turner was selected as the BSN Sports MAAC Coach of the Year. Turner was one of three major award winners, as graduate defender

Amanda Knaub was honored as the MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year. Cuevas and Knaub each were All-MAAC First Team selections, alongside redshirt sophomore
Madie Gibson, senior midfielder

Alli DeLuca. The selections marked the seventh time in program history the Hawks have had five first-team selections.
In addition to the five First Team All-MAAC honorees, the Hawks had two players voted to the All-MAAC Second Team and one All-Rookie choice. Senior forward
Rachelle Ross and sophomore defender
Anna Lazur were Monmouth's second-team players, while defender
Sarina Jones was named to the All-Rookie squad.

- Send Monmouth to the NCAA Tournament second round
- Give the Hawks 16 victories, their most since 2013 (17)
