What have you been up to since graduating from Monmouth?
Since my lacrosse career ended, I earned my MBA from Monmouth, began an accounting career at Commvault Systems in Tinton Falls, NJ and passed the CPA Exam.
What is your fondest memory at Monmouth?
Being a member of the first NCAA Division I men's lacrosse team was my fondest memory at Monmouth. As an underclassman, my teammates and I at the club level had a vision for the future of Monmouth lacrosse as a program that would be nationally competitive. We saw that it would be a great source of pride for our school that we could all take ownership of for years to come. To have the opportunity to be a part of that future and to watch the program continue to grow is amazing.
If you could travel anywhere in the world next week where would you go and why?
I would travel to Australia if I could. To fly across the globe, see their world-famous wildlife and experience a new culture would be really fun.
If you could master one skill right now that you don't have, what would it be?
I would love to learn how to write computer code. Coding is a vital part of the modern economy. I would find it fascinating to have a first-hand understanding of how the world's computer infrastructure is developed. A close second place would be to speak fluent Spanish.
If you could give advice to a current Monmouth player, what would it be?
I would encourage any current Monmouth player to listen to the coaching staff and explore everything our University has to offer. Being a Division I athlete is a unique experience. Having the chance to develop your skills as a person under the direction of very bright coaches and professors is an opportunity of a lifetime. Leaving no stone unturned and getting outside the comfort zone is a big part of the experience.
How did your time at Monmouth prepare you for life after graduation?
Monmouth taught me how to embrace challenges. Each step I've taken after graduation has been a microcosm of my experiences in school academically, athletically and socially. Difficult tasks result in the most worthwhile accomplishments and having the experience of confronting challenges head-on has given me the right mindset for how to achieve professional goals.
Between your former teammates and coaches, who has had the most impact on your life?
Ryan Horsch and Coach McCutcheon have both had profound impacts on my life. Ryan and I went to rival high schools and then played together as teammates at Monmouth. He's one of the most fiercely competitive people I've ever met and he demanded the same from his teammates. His competitiveness brings the best out of people and he made me push myself each day to be the best competitor I could be. Coach Mac gets his players to tap into the enthusiasm they have for the game of lacrosse and for life in general. Playing for Coach Mac makes you seize every opportunity and attack it with energy and enthusiasm, because when you play and live with that type of attitude there's no limit to what you can accomplish.
