McTAMNEY'S HEROICS SEND WOMEN'S SOCCER TO VICTORY

FINAL SCORE
Monmouth 1 (2-2-1)
Seton Hall 0 (2-3-0)

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ –
Alexis McTamney's goal with five seconds remaining in regulation broke a scoreless stalemate as the Monmouth University women's soccer team defeated Seton Hall on Sunday afternoon at Owen T. Carroll Field.

McTamney (Bordentown, NJ / Bordentown) and the Hawks had a number of quality scoring chances in the match before the senior finished a loose ball in the Seton Hall penalty area in the final seconds. After a scramble in front, McTamney made a move into space before finishing a left-footed strike into the far side netting for her first goal of the year.

Monmouth outshot the Pirates 15-4, including 9-2 in shots on goal, and had an 11-0 advantage in corner kicks.

NOTES & QUOTES
"It was a challenging weekend and our team responded in a very positive way. To be on the road for two games and to get two shutouts is a credit to the resiliency of our team. Alexis scored a terrific goal to win the game and finish off a great team victory."
