RIVERDALE, NY – Three second-half goals propelled the Monmouth University women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Manhattan on Saturday afternoon at Gaelic Park.
Madie Gibson (Cape May, NJ / Lower Cape May),
Alexis McTamney (Bordentown, NJ / Bordentown) and
Alli DeLuca (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central) provided the scoring for the Hawks, while
Amanda Knaub (Enola, PA / Trinity) made two saves in a shutout victory in net.

- Monmouth scored first for the seventh time in nine matches.

Rachelle Ross set up Gibson's goal when she passed back to Gibson, who fired a shot into the upper corner eight minutes into the second half. McTamney added an unassisted tally to make it 2-0 less than 10 minutes later.

Alli DeLuca provided an insurance goal in the 74th minute when she scored for the second consecutive game.

NUMBERS CRUNCH - Gibson's goal, which held up to be the eventual game-winner, was the first of her career. Ross set up the goal with her second assist of the year.
- Ross' assist increased her career point total to 35. Ross has at least one point in three of her past four games.
- McTamney, the MAAC Preseason Player of the Year, scored her second goal of 2016 and the 27th of her career. She now has 71 career points, which ranks 11th in program history.
- DeLuca's team-leading third goal of the season was assisted by
Anna Lazur, who registered her first-collegiate point.
- Knaub improved to 3-1-1 on the year and lowered her goals-against average to 0.36. The clean sheet was the fourth of her freshman season.
- Monmouth outshot Manhattan 17-5, including 5-2 in shots on goal, and held a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.
- The Hawks have outshot their opponents 136-69 this season.
