EDISON, NJ – Monmouth University senior Kyle Deisher (Montgomery, PA/ Montgomery) and sophomore Sarah Kokotajlo (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) were named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Golfer of the Week, respectively, league officials announced Wednesday.

Deisher, who earns his second-straight golfer of the week distinction, shot three-over-par 74, good for a share of first overall, to lead the Hawks to a first place finish in the annual Monmouth Invitational last Thursday at Deal Country Club. The senior shot 35 on the front nine before following up with 39 on the back to earn his first first-place finish and third top-five result of his career. The fourth-year Hawk enters this weekend's championship with a 75.2 stroke average after playing all 19 rounds this season.

Kokotajlo captures her first career league honor after shooting 78, good for a share of third place overall, last Wednesday in the Hawk Invitational at Navesink Country Club. The sophomore inked a birdie on both the front and the back nine en route to her third card in the 70s this season. Kokotajlo is second on the team this year with an 82.5 stroke average in 17 rounds of action.

The 2016 MAAC Championships opens up this Friday, April 22nd at Disney's Magnolia Course in Lake Buena Vista, FL. Sunday's final round will be broadcasted live on ESPN3.
