WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ –  The Monmouth University women's soccer team completed Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play with an unbeaten record after knocking off Iona 6-0 on Wednesday night at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn.

Madie Gibson (Cape May, NJ / Lower Cape May), Rachelle Ross (Mount Laurel, NJ / Lenape), Alli DeLuca (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central Regional) and Rachael Ivanicki (Colts Neck, NJ / Colts Neck [Bryant]) each scored before halftime as the Hawks jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the break.

Jazlyn Moya (Avenel, NJ / Colonia) and LeAnne Davis (Wyomissing, PA / Wilson) each added second-half goals to run the final score to 6-0 and Amanda Knaub (Enola, PA / Trinity) made five saves in the shutout.

- The Hawks remained unbeaten in 15 consecutive MAAC regular season matches (14-0-1).
- Monmouth improved its four-year MAAC record to 35-2-3.
- Monmouth has won nine MAAC games three consecutive seasons.
- The Hawks reached 12 total wins for the fourth consecutive season.
- Monmouth increased its overall unbeaten streak to 10 games, its longest since the 2013 season when it was unbeaten in 14 straight matches.
- Monmouth used its 10th different starting lineup in 2016.
- Monmouth leads the all-time series with Iona 10-0-1.
- Monmouth's Class of 2017 won its 56th game. The 56 wins are the third most by a class in Monmouth history.

 NUMBERS CRUNCH
- Gibson scored the game's first goal and assisted on DeLuca's tally in the 24th minute. Gibson leads the Hawks with 28 points (10 G, 8A) in 2016.
- Ross and Alexis McTamney each assisted Gibson's opening goal. Ross scored to make it 2-0 in the 19th minute and now has 19 points on the year (8G, 3A).
- McTamney's assist to moved her career-point total to 86, which is seventh in program history.
- Ivanicki and DeLuca each increased their season totals to five goals. Julie Spracklin assisted Ivanicki's goal to give her 46 career points (14G, 18A).
- Davis and Moya each scored the first goals of their careers. Anna Lazur set up Moya's backheel flick and gave her three assists this season. Lexie Palladino assisted Davis' goal and also picked up her third assist of 2016.
- Knaub improved to 11-1-2 on the year, her 11 wins are the most for a freshman goalkeeper since Lia Fierro had 11 in 2007.    
- Knaub's shutout was her ninth of the season, the most for a freshman goalkeeper since Lori Houlihan had 15 in 1995.
- Knaub's five saves set a new season high for the freshman goalkeeper.
- Monmouth's 11 shutouts are the most for the program since 2014 (11). 
- Monmouth scored first for the 14th time in 18 matches.
- Monmouth outshot Iona 29-8, including 18-3 in the first half.
- It was the 15th time this season Monmouth has held its opposition to less than three corner kicks.
- The Hawks have outshot their opponents 328-118 this season.
 
NEXT UP

Monmouth will host the MAAC Tournament at Hesse Field on the Great Lawn on Friday, Nov. 4 and Sunday, Nov. 6. All three matches will be broadcast live on ESPN3 and game times will be released by the conference in the coming days.
