MAAC ANNOUNCES MEN'S BASKETBALL TELEVISION SCHEDULE

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference has announced the 2016-17 television schedule, with Monmouth men's basketball appearing eight times on the platform, including in all five “Netflex” dates. Other Hawks' home games not listed on the MAAC package will appear on ESPN3 through Monmouth's school-production agreement with ESPN.

Monmouth's January 20th matchup at the OceanFirst Bank Center with Steve Masiello's Manhattan Jaspers will air on ESPN3 at 7:00 p.m., as will MU's game with Niagara on February 16 at 8:00 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the Monmouth women's team. The final game of the regular season on February 26 has been selected for ESPN3, with the Blue and White visiting Iona at 4:00 p.m.

Last year's MAAC regular season champions are also part of all five “Netflex” dates through ESPN, formerly known as “wild card” dates. Netflex matchups selected for the broadcast will be announced no later than 21 days prior to the game, with each game being placed between ESPN2, ESPNU, or ESPN3.

Of the five “Netflex” games, four will take place at the OceanFirst Bank Center, including a January 6 meeting with Iona and a January 27 contest against Quinnipiac. The Hawks are also part of flex dates on February 3rd against Saint Peter's and February 24th vs. Siena at home, and on February 10 at Manhattan.

All four non-conference home games and other conference home games not listed as part of the MAAC television package will appear on ESPN3 as part of Monmouth's agreement with the network.

The MAAC will release the 2016-17 preseason poll and preseason all-conference teams on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN3.

MU opens the season on ESPN3 at home against Drexel on November 11.
