JUSTIN ROBINSON AND MICAH SEABORN EARN WEEKLY HONORS

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth men's basketball junior guard Justin Robinson (Lake Katrine, NY/Kingston) and freshman guard Micah Seaborn (Fort Worth, TX/Prime Prep Academy) have been named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference weekly award winners, while Robinson also garnered Lou Henson National Player of the Week honors from CollegeInsider.com. Robinson was named MAAC Player of the Week, while Seaborn earned Rookie of the Week. The pair were integral in Monmouth's third place finish at the AdvoCare Invitational, recording wins over #17 Notre Dame and the University of Southern California.

Robinson was named tournament MVP after setting the 10-year old tournament's scoring record by netting 77 points in three games. He bested the previous marker by four points, set by former NBA first-round pick Michael Beasley with Kansas State in 2007. Robinson was also named to the 2015 AdvoCare Invitational All-Tournament team.

The junior knocked in the game-winning free throws with 3.6 seconds remaining to top #17 Notre Dame, the program's first-ever victory over a ranked opponent, and ended up with 22 on 4-11 FG and 14-15 from the foul line with three rebounds, four assists and two steals.

The point guard followed that up by tying a career-high for the third time this season with 28 points in a three-point loss to Dayton, hitting 7-of-15 from the floor and 5-7 from three-point range along with 9-10 from the charity stripe. He contributed four boards and two assists.

Finally, he broke the scoring record with a dagger three in the final minute to propel Monmouth to a third place finish in the tournament and a win over Pac-12 member USC. Against the Trojans, Robinson finished with 27 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals on 9-15 shooting and another five threes. He shot 48.8% from the floor on the weekend, 62.5% from beyond the arc and 27-29 from the foul line, good for 93.1% with 14 boards, nine assists and five steals.

Seaborn was a key factor in Monmouth's third place finish at the AdvoCare Invitational and wins over #17 Notre Dame and Pac-12 member USC. He scored in double-figures in all three games and has done so in five of his first six collegiate contests. Against Notre Dame, Seaborn shot 6-for-11 and netted 15 points, nabbing two rebounds and two steals as the Hawks upset the Fighting Irish. He was strong again in a three-point loss to Dayton, scoring 12 and pitching in four assists and four boards.

The freshman's best game came against USC on Sunday, where he knocked down four threes and multiple important shots in a 20-point effort vs. the Trojans. He finished with four more rebounds, shooting 7-14 from the floor. Seaborn ended the weekend shooting 45.9%, along with 43.8% from 3 coupled with stellar defensive play.

Robinson, Seaborn and the Hawks are back on the floor Friday night at Canisius in the first conference game of the season. Tip is set for 7:00 p.m. on ESPN3.
