WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth men's basketball junior guard Justin Robinson (Lake Katrine, NY/Kingston) has been named MAAC Player of the Week, conference officials announced early Monday afternoon.

Robinson helped lead Monmouth to one of the biggest wins in program history on Friday night, topping UCLA at Pauley Pavilion 84-81 in overtime. The junior scored 16 points and added three assists while playing 39 minutes against the Bruins. The Monmouth defensive effort was a major factor in the win as the Hawks turned the Bruins over 23 times, with Robinson personally recording six steals on the night. Monmouth turned the ball over just five times in the game while out running UCLA 8-0 in transition points. The Hawks overcame a 13-point second half deficit and a five-point gap in overtime to knock off the Bruins on opening night, going on a 9-1 run to finish the game.

Monmouth completes the California trip tonight at the Galen Center against USC. Tip is set for 7:06pm local time (10:06pm EST).
