WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Monmouth University men's and women's cross country teams placed eleven total athletes on the 2013 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic Team, conference officials announced on Friday afternoon. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
On the men's side, seniors Pat Ryan (Leonia, N.J./Leonia) and Anthony Branco (Old Bridge, N.J./Matawan) joined juniors Andrew Langille (Scarborough, Ontario, Canada/R.S. McLaughlin C.V.I) and Tommy Darlington (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem) as well as sophomore Connor Fuller (Bainbridge, N.Y./Bainbridge-Guilford Central). Also qualifying were Chris Solda (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) and Kevin French (Fishkill, N.Y./John Jay. The women had four athletes named All-Academic, led by seniors Danielle Branco (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) and Marissa Felicetti (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge). Sophomores Amanda Fasano (Cornwall, N.Y./Cornwall Central) and Sarah Wiley (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) also were honored, as MU had eleven athletes in total named to All-Academic Teams.
In total, the MAAC had 74 men and 80 women named to the 2013 Cross Country All-Academic teams, with Monmouth placing six representatives on the men's side and five on the women's.
