WEST HARTFORD, CONN. - After one round of the Hartford Invitational, the Monmouth University women's golf team, led by a career-best round from sophomore
Macy Raimo, stands in second place out of six teams with a 317 team score. Raimo, who fired an opening day 76, stands in a tie for third place as an individual, three strokes off the lead.
Monmouth, which stands 13 strokes behind event-leading Siena (304), was led by Raimo's round of 76, while two other Hawks also stand in the top-10 in the field.
Junior
Kelsi Kavanagh stands in a tie for sixth place overall with her round of 78, while classmate
Rachel Werner carded an 80 to tie for 10th position. Sophomores
Elizabeth Abbondandolo and
Michelle Rosenhouse rounded out the Hawks' fivesome on the day, posting scores of 83 and 84, to stand in ties for 22nd and 25th position, respectively.
Siena (304) leads the pack, while Kristyna Paulickova of Boston University posted the lone even-par 72 on the day to lead as an individual.
Monmouth returns to action tomorrow, when the Hawks compete in the final round of the Hartford Invitational at Rockledge G.C.
