MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. - Behind junior Macy Raimo's (Albany, N.Y. (Colonie Central) round of three-over par 75, the Monmouth University women's golf team defeated Hartford University in a duel match, 312-318, which was held last weekend at the par-72, 5931-yard Lyman Golf Course.
Raimo shot her best round of the season in the last event of the fall season, while classmate Elizabeth Abbondandolo (Oyster Bay Cove, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy Academy) and Kelsi Kavanagh (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Boro) each claimed a share of fourth place, carding a rounds of 78. Third-year Hawk Michelle Rosenhouse (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West) posted a round of 81 followed by senior Rachel Warner (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown West) and rookie Jessica Kavanagh (Point Pleasant, N.J. (Point Pleasant Boro), who registered rounds of 88 and 95, respectively. Playing as individuals, freshman Rebbeca Gaona and sophomore Ashley Navin recorded rounds of 87 and 89.
The Hawks will look to build off their victory over Hartford as it continues its 2012-13 season in the spring.
