The Monmouth University men's tennis team recently dropped a pair of nonleague matches to Army and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. The Hawks failed to register a team point in either match.
Against Army on March 5, the Hawks were able to wrestle away only one set from the Black Knights as David Sherwood fell at first singles to Gary Kushnirovich, 6-1, 4-6 and 6-4.
Then against the Highlanders back on February 28, MU fell in three sets at third, fourth and fifth singles. In both matches last week, the Hawks lost the doubles point, forfeiting the third doubles match.
This week, Monmouth is in Florida to take on Creighton (Monday), Saint Joseph's (Tuesday) and Valporaiso (Wednesday).
