MONMOUTH BACK DAVID SINISI NAMED TO THE SPORTS NETWORK?S ALL-AMERICA TEAM

PHILADELPHIA- Monmouth University senior running back David Sinisi (Cedar Grove, N.J./Cedar Grove) has been named as a Second Team All-American by The Sports Network.

Sinisi, who was a third team AP All-American as a junior, becomes just the second Hawk in school history to be named as an All-American in back to back seasons (Joe Sentipal 2002-2003).  This season Sinisi was also selected as an ECAC All-Star and a member of the First Team All-Northeast Conference.  He was also named to the Walter Payton Watch List for the second consecutive season.

The Cedar Grove, N.J. native finished the season with 1,437 rushing yards on 300 carries with 13 rushing touchdowns.  The two-time Walter Payton Award finalist added 17 touchdowns in 2009, to finish with a NEC record 72 scores.  The fifth -year senior ran for over 100 yards in eight of 11 games as a senior and in 25 out of 42 career games.  He ended the season as the NCAA's active career leader in scoring, rushing yards and carries per game.  Sinisi's 5,049 rushing yards is the most in conference history and the 15thmost in NCAA FCS history.

Sinisi wrapped up his career by owning over 30 Monmouth offensive records, including scoring, yards, 100-yard performances, carries and all-purpose yardage.
