WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - The Monmouth University field hockey team lost to Lock Haven 4-0 in Northeast Conference action Friday night in Lock Haven, Pa.
The loss eliminates the Hawks' from contention in the four-team NEC Tournament, which takes place Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4.
Lock Haven got on the board less than six minutes into the game as Samantha Stoyer scored an unassisted goal to give the Lady Eagles a 1-0 lead. The score remained 1-0 until the second half, when Lock Haven tallied their final three goals. Renee Kemmerer scored at the 37:40 mark, and less than six minutes later Sarah Huber gave the Lady Eagles a 3-0 lead. Blair Wynne scored the final goal in the 53rd minute.
Chelsea Farley (Sykesville, Md. /Centennial) made 13 saves in goal for the Hawks. The Monmouth offense was led by
Annie LoPresti (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North), who fired five shots on goals.
Monmouth concludes their regular season Sunday, October 29 when they take on the St. Francis (Pa.) Red Flash for a 12:00 p.m. contest in Loretto, Pa.
