Former Indiana University All-Big Ten defender Kelly Lawrence has joined the Monmouth University women's soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2013.
A four-year starter and the first player in Indiana history to be named to an all-region team by the NSCAA on three occasions, Lawrence is the only player in Hoosier history to be named All-Big Ten all four seasons.
Lawrence, who gained nine caps during her career with the England U-17 National team and 11 caps with the England U-19 National team, helped England to a runner-up finish in the 2007 Women's Under-19 UEFA Cup and also had stints with two of the top English Premier League teams, most recently with Arsenal.
Since her graduation from Indiana in December 2010, Lawrence has gained her NSCAA Goalkeeping Level I & Level II Coaching Diploma, NSCAA National Coaching Diploma, NSCAA Advanced National Coaching Diploma and National Coaching Certification and an NSCAA Premier diploma.
Most recently Lawrence served as the Girls Varsity Assistant Coach at The Pingry High School in Martinsville, New Jersey, where they won a state championships, and was the Club Technical Director for Soccer Education for the Bridgewater United Soccer Club, as well as a volunteer coach for NJ ODP. Lawrence, who was a fifth-year women's soccer student assistant coach at Indiana, was also a Director of Dutch Total Soccer Youth Development Programs.
Lawrence currently coaches for STA in Morristown and will serve as an NSCAA Associate Staff coach.
