Biography
SENIOR (2016-17): Leaves Monmouth with the second-most rebounds in program history (817), fourth-most blocked shots (150), and second-most games played (124)… Scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the win at Lehigh (Nov. 27)… Scored in double-figures for the first time at Niagara (Dec. 2) with 10 points… Poured in 12 points in the win at Sacred Heart (Dec. 8)… Registered a career-high five steals against FDU (Dec. 10)… Scored a season-high 14 points to go along with nine rebounds against Providence (Dec. 21)… Racked up a double-double in the home win against Saint Peter’s (Jan. 7) with 11 points and 18 rebounds… Earned another double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds at Marist (Feb. 18)… Had season-high four blocks against Niagara (Feb. 26)
JUNIOR (2015-16): Started 30 of 31 games played, averaging 6.5 points and a team-high 8.9 rebounds… Also blocked a team-high 55 shots (1.8 bpg.)… Compiled a team-best five double-doubles… Scored in double-figures seven times, including 14 points against Eastern Michigan (Dec. 10) and Niagara (Feb. 19)… Grabbed double-digit rebounds 13 times… Also scored 13 points and grabbed a career-high 21 rebounds against Siena (Dec. 4)… Her 21 rebounds against Siena rank tied for sixth in program single-game history… Scored 12 points apiece at Lehigh (Nov. 13) and at Canisius (Feb. 21), completing a double-double with 11 boards, seven offensive, against the Mountain Hawks… Blocked six shots twice – victories over Marist (Jan. 10) and Manhattan (Feb. 11)… Dished out five assists twice – wins over Marist (Jan. 10) and Canisius (Feb. 7)… Also made three steals on two occasions.
SOPHOMORE (2014-15): Averaged 6.4 points and a team-best 6.9 rebounds per game (8th-MAAC) in 30 games played, including three starts… Had a team-best five double-doubles… Her 2.8 offensive rebounds per game ranked fourth in the MAAC, while also finishing eighth in the league at 1.3 blocks per game… Started the season strong with 14 points and eight rebounds against Lehigh (Nov. 15)… Posted her first double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds at Wagner (Nov. 28)… Narrowly missed a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds at Marist (Dec. 5)… Scored a career-high 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a double-overtime win over Iona (Dec. 7)… Had eight points and 10 rebounds at Quinnipiac (Jan. 4)… Grabbed 13 rebounds against Marist (Jan. 10)… Had 14 points and 14 rebounds, including nine on the offensive glass, in an overtime loss at Fairfield (Feb. 1)… Went for 13 points and a career-high 17 rebounds, including eight offensive rebounds, in a road hOURglass rivalry win at Saint Peter’s (Feb. 5)… Scored eight points in two overtime periods as part of a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four blocks in a win at Niagara (Feb. 20)… Grabbed 10 rebounds in a win over Manhattan (Feb. 26)… Scored 14 points in the MAAC Championship First Round win over Canisius (Mar. 5).
FRESHMAN (2013-14): Started 10 of the Hawks’ last 14 games, part of 32 games played in her initial collegiate season… Averaged 2.6 points and 3.6 rebounds, while shooting 42.4 percent from the floor… Posted her first career double-double with a season-high 14 points and 13 rebounds in the MAAC Championship First Round vs. Niagara, including a pivotal putback in the final minute to push the Hawks’ lead to two possessions… Scored four points and had an early season-high seven rebounds against Eastern Michigan (Dec. 22)… Had seven points and six rebounds at Niagara (Jan. 19)… Grabbed at least five rebounds in five-straight games (Jan. 26-Feb. 7), including seven at Fairfield (Feb. 4)… Scored a then-season-high eight points to go along with a season-high four assists at Marist (Feb. 28).
BEFORE MONMOUTH: An inside-outside threat, Mitchell became the all-time leading rebounder and shot blocker Coach Clarence Scott at Maryland Academy of Technology and Health Science (MATHS)... Averaged 12 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals per game as a senior in leading MATHS to the No. 38 ranking in Maryland… Averaged 8.6 points per game, 10.4 rebounds, 4.5 blocks, and 1.3 steals a game as a junior... Recorded double-doubles in 10 of her 23 games, leading the Mighty Panthers to a 15-8 record… Was selected honorable mention to the All Metro Team for 695 Hoops… As a sophomore, Mitchell averaged 10.1 points, 13.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 4.8 blocks and 2.1 steals per game... Recorded 10 double-doubles out of 18 games, and had three games in which she grabbed at least 20 rebounds as a sophomore... Was selected First Team Baltimore Innovative Athletic Conference and also won BIAC Player of the Year… Was also named to the BIAC All-Tournament team and led MATHS to the BIAC title… Spent her freshman year at Western High School, leading the Doves to the state semifinals… Also played AAU ball with the Baltimore Starz… In 2009, helped lead the Starz to a 13 & under Maryland State Championship… In  2012, Mitchell led Maryland Select to the 16U Championship Game… Was also named to the All-Tournament Team at the Nike Junior Nationals in Washington, D.C.
PERSONAL: Born in Baltimore, Md. …The daughter of Denise and James Mitchell… Majoring in business management with a concentration in accounting.
