Nijeria Carter joined the Monmouth women's basketball staff in the fall of 2023 as the Director of Program Operations, and re-joined the program in October 2025 on Cait Wetmore's staff as the Director of Basketbll Operations.
Carter assists in all aspects of program day-to-day operations, including travel, practice and academics.

Carter brings a wealth of basketball experience to the Hawks’ program after working on both the professional and collegiate levels.

Carter joined the Hawks from the National Basketball Association (NBA) office where she served as a production assistant since September of 2018. In that role, she managed the 2022 WNBA Finals press conference operations. She helped execute footage requests for NBA content and helped coordinate social media graphic designs. Carter also helped produce and improve the output of the NBA’s continuous broadcast feed for League Pass, the WNBA’s Facebook games and the NBA Spanish and BetStream Feeds.

Prior to her work with the NBA, Carter worked as the director of basketball operations at Wagner College for two years. She was responsible for producing scouting reports, distributing game film and filming practices and games using the various film systems. Carter managed team travel, schedules, meals and overseeing managers and practice players. She organized and ran camps and assisted with social media.Â

Carter earned her bachelors degree in sport management from Georgia Southern in December of 2015. While she was an undergraduate she served as an assistant camp director for women’s and men’s basketball and also served as the women’s basketball team’s head manager.

Carter earned a master of business administration in media management in 2018.

She also served as the basketball operations intern for the Atlanta Dream of the WNBA while she was an undergrad. In that role she managed the ball kid program, created scouting programs and more.
