Matt Gross joined the Monmouth women’s basketball staff as the Director of Basketball Operations in July of 2022.
He arrived in West Long Branch after graduating from Penn State this past spring. During his time in Happy Valley, he spent three seasons as the head manager for the women’s basketball program after serving as a staff assistant as a freshman.
With the Nittany Lions, Gross held a bevy of responsibilities that included putting together player comparison packages, generating scout breakdowns, designing recruiting graphics and creating reports breaking down advanced statistics. He also oversaw over 10 team managers and more than 20 practice players along with being responsible for several additional tasks for practices and game days.
Gross personally worked out players that turned into All-Big Ten guards, the 2021 Big Ten Sixth Woman of the Year and several Big Ten All-Freshman Team members.
