Joe Haigh was named an assistant coach on June 30. Haigh enter his first season with the Hawks in 2025-26. 

Haigh brings 20 years of coaching experience to the program. Prior to his time at Utah State, he served on the coaching staff at Mount St. Mary’s during the 2022–23 season, where he helped mentor a pair of All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference honorees.

Haigh also has extensive head coaching experience, having led the Saint Francis (Pa.) program for seven seasons. During his tenure, he guided the Red Flash to 93 victories—the second-most in program history—and compiled a 66–42 record in Northeast Conference (NEC) play. He led the team to the NCAA Tournament in the 2017–18 season after capturing both the NEC regular season and tournament titles.

“I’m really excited for this opportunity to work with Coach Wetmore and Monmouth women’s basketball,” said Haigh. “After visiting Monmouth for so many years as a competitor and while recruiting in the area, it feels great to now be part of the program.”

Before his time at Saint Francis, Haigh served as director of basketball operations at VCU from 2006–08. He began his coaching career with Randolph College men’s basketball during the 2004–05 season.

Haigh also spent the 2019–20 season at Siena and the 2021–22 season at Sacred Heart.

A native of Washington, Haigh earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame in 1995 and a Master of Science in Sports Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005. He also played collegiately at Green River Community College in Auburn, Washington.
