Biography

 

The Hawks’ most dominating power hitter in school history... Quick hands, excellent arm strength and foot speed to compliment... Three-time All-NEC selection, including two first-team honors... Tremendous team player boosting the Hawks defensively as needed in the outfield and pitcher’s circle, as well as offensively in the batter’s box.


2006 [Junior]: Earned second-team All-Northeast Conference honors as an outfielder, marking her third consecutive year as an All-Conference performer... Started all 45 games for the Hawks and led the squad in home runs (10), slugging percentage (.631), RBIs (36), doubles (9) and total bases (89)... Was second in batting average (.326) and runs scored (26)... Ranked in the top-five of the NEC in slugging percentage (2nd), RBIs (4th), homeruns (4th) and total bases (5th)... Named to the Bash at the Beach All-Tournament team... Was also effective  in the circle, pitching 42.1 total innings and striking out 19 batters... Pitched a shutout in a 5-0 win over Lehigh (3/7), including five strike outs... Hit 2-for-2 with a double and a triple, scoring two runs and contributing two RBIs in 8-0 win against UMKC (3/10)... Knocked in three runs on a double and a home run and pitched three innings of relief, striking out three batters to record the save over Mount St. Mary’s (3/17)... Drove in two RBIs on a home run and a double in a 13-5 win over Rutgers (3/17)... Blasted a two-run home run against Lehigh (3/18) and a three-run round-tripper in win over LIU (4/1)... Went 5-for-5 with a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored in a 9-inning win against St. Peter’s (4/12)... Registered a solo-home run against St. Peter’s (4/12)... Drove in three runs and scored two runs while going 2-for-3 against Quinnipiac (4/24)... Registered two doubles and a home run while knocking in six RBIs in two-game sweep of St. Francis [N.Y.]... Ended the season going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two more batted in against Mount St. Mary’s (4/30).


2005 [Sophomore]: Earned second straight first-team All-Northeast Conference honors as a utility player... Established a school record for career home runs (17) in only her second season, broke the record when she belted her ninth round-tripper of the season against Wagner (5/2)... Her nine homers ranks second in school history in a single season... Her 35 runs batted in ranks 4th all-time in Monmouth’s single-season RBI totals... Ranked second in the NEC home runs, third in slugging pct., third in RBIs... Started 46 games for the Hawks, including 25 in leftfield, 16 in the circle, 3 in centerfield, and 2 as the designated hitter... Led team in slugging percentage (.593), RBIs (35), doubles (7), home runs (9), ranked second in runs scored (32) and total bases (83)... In the circle for the Hawks, Gordon posted double-digit wins for the first time, with a 10-10 record...Logged 58 strikeouts in 108.1 innings of work while posting a 3.81 earned run average... Logged 45 hits in 140 at-bats for a .321 batting average, which ranked 4th on the team... Earned her third career NEC Player of the Week honor after hitting .579 with two home runs, nine RBIs, and eight runs scored during the week of 4/25... Hit a pair of home runs in Hawks’ first-ever sweep of in-state rival Rutgers, including a go-ahead, two-run blast in the top of the seventh inning of game two, ended that doubleheader 7-for-8 with seven runs batted in and seven runs scored (4/20)... Went 3-for-5 in a sweep of CCSU that same week, and sparked a four-run rally in the bottom of the sixth, with a go-ahead RBI double, as well as winning both ends of the doubleheader in the circle, posting a four-hit shutout in the nightcap... Earned second career NEC Pitcher of the Week honor for the week of 4/4, after tossing a complete game five-hitter over Columbia, then won the nightcap after pitching three innings of relief... Went 2-for-2 with two home runs, three runs scored, and four RBIs in loss to Colgate (3/12)... Went 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs in win vs. St. Francis (Pa.) (4/4)... Posted a complete game four-hitter, allowing no earned runs, in 3-2 win over Manhattan (4/6).


2004 [Freshman]: Garnered first-team All-Northeast Conference honor as a utility player... Ranked first in the NEC and 1st for the Hawks with 8 home runs... Registered highest slugging percentage in the NEC by a margin of over 100 points...Her slugging mark of .667 was 48th best among all Division I hitters... Ranked fourth in the NEC and 1st for the Hawks with a .343 batting average, logging 34 hits in 99 at-bats... Led team in multiple RBI games (7), slugging percentage (.667), on-base percentage (.421), total bases (66), RBIs (24) and triples (2)... Tied teammate Dawn Gilchrist with 10 multiple-hit games... Started 35 games for the Hawks, including 23 as the designated player, 11 in leftfield, 10 in the circle, and one in rightfield... Appeared in 14 games as a pitcher, posting a 5-6 record with a 3.90 earned run average... Logged 43 strikeouts in 61 innings of work... Earned her first NEC Player of the Week honor on March 29th after hitting .500 (9-18) with four runs scored, two doubles, two triples, two home runs, two stolen bases, and nine RBIs... Earned her second NEC Player of the Week honor along with her first NEC Pitcher of the Week honor on May 3rd after batting .529 (9-17) with two home runs, four runs scored, and six RBIs at the plate while posting a 3-0 record on the mound with a 0.82 earned run average... Registered an 8-game hitting streak in the month of March (3/13-3/28), going 12-26 (.462) with three home runs, two triples, two doubles, nine RBIs, five runs scored and two stolen bases... Went 3-3 with a homerun in a win vs. Columbia (4/28)... Batted 3-6 in a split with Rider, logging a double, a run scored, and an RBI... Pitched a 5-hit shutout against St. Francis [Pa.] (5/1), striking out 6 and walking none... Also went 2-3 with a grandslam in the St. Francis [Pa.] triumph.


High School: Two-sport standout at Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Flourtown, Pa... Earned four letters in softball... Selected all-league on three occasions... Led team to League Championships in 2002,  including the state quaterfinals in 2003... Named MVP in both 2002 and 2003... Lettered two years in soccer and led squad to district playoffs in 2000... Member of the PA Sellersville Belles travel team.


Personal: Daughter of Keith and Lorraine Gordon... Born Heather Marie Gordon on September 21, 1985... Majoring in communications.
