Megan McAllister was added to the Monmouth University Softball staff as an assistant coach in August 2011. The Hawks have earned conference tournament berths in each of her first three seasons in West Long Branch, winning seven-straight games to close the regular season and punch their ticket in 2012 before winning 31 games in 2013. The Hawks also qualified for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships in their first season in the league. McAllister's first season coincided with Kaitie Schumacher's rise to NEC Player of the Year status.
McAllister spent two seasons prior to joining the Hawks as an assistant coach at her alma mater, where the Bulldogs finished 101-27 in her two years on the bench. In 2010, UGA reached the Women's College World Series and finished the season at 50-13. During that campaign, McAllister aided in the Bulldogs establishing eight new single-season school records. In 2011, the Bulldogs improved on four of those records.
McAllister rejoined the Georgia program after spending on season as an assistant coach at Wingate University in 2009. She helped Wingate to a 33-16-1 overall mark in 2009 and the South Atlantic Conference regular season championship with a school-record 13 league wins.
Prior to her stint a Wingate, McAllister spent the 2008 season as a volunteer coach at Georgia, where she worked primarily with the hitters and defense, as the Bulldogs went 46-24 and advanced to the Super Regionals in the NCAA Tournament.
McAllister was a four-year letterwinner for Georgia from 2004-07, and in February of 2007, she was drafted by the Philadelphia Force of the National Professional Fast-Pitch League. During her playing career at UGA, McAllister earned Easton second-team and NFCA third-team All-America honors in 2006 after hitting .350 with 16 doubles, a then school-record 16 home runs and 64 RBI. McAllister was also a first-team SFCA All-Southeast Region selection and a first-team All-SEC honoree in 2005 and 2006. She helped Georgia earn its second SEC Championship in 2005, and in 2004, she was selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team.
An offensive force, McAllister held the Georgia record for career home runs (47) at the time of her graduation, and currently ranks second. She also has career ranks of first (tied) in sacrifice flies (12), fifth in doubles (46), fifth (tied) in extra-base hits (93), fourth in walks (119), sixth in total bases (390), fourth in hit-by-pitches (39), ninth in hits (203) and seventh in slugging percentage (.583).
A native of Carlsbad, California, McAllister earned a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences degree in Consumer Economics from Georgia in 2007.
