High School: A four-year varsity starter for Fountain Valley in the circle... Compiled a 1.51 earned run average and a 9-7 record in the circle as a junior... Led the Sunset League in strikeouts with a remarkable 152 K's in just 101 innings pitched... Helped lead the Barons to the California Interscholastic Federation Tournament for the first time in 11 years and was voted Team MVP and First Team All-Sunset League... Rivera had six games with double-digit strikeouts, with at least 17 three times... Included in her strikeout totals were 17 against nationally-ranked No. 7 Los Alamitos and 18 against Huntington Beach... Also played travel ball for the Artesia Punishers.
