Alyssa Ercolino

Alyssa Ercolino

Former standout Alyssa Ercolino joined the Monmouth field hockey staff as the second assistant in July of 2018.

"I am very excited to welcome Alyssa back to the program," commented head coach Carli Figlio.  "She embodies all that Monmouth strives to be and is a positive role model for our players in every sense. Her hard work and dedication will allow her to guide our student-athletes in becoming not only the best on the field but give them the tools to develop as well-rounded, hard-working teammates."

In her first season on the sidelines, Ercolino helped coach the Hawks to a 13-win season and the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Regular Season and Conference Championships.  Working with the forward line, 12 different Hawks scored a goal, led by Georgia Garden Bachop’s 18 tallies.  The team led the MAAC in goals scored (57), goals per game (2.85), shots (300), shots per game (15.00), scoring margin (1.07) and scoring average (2.78).

Part of the 2019 America East Coaching Staff of the Year, Ercolino helped guide the Hawks to the league’s East Division Championship after a perfect 5-0 conference record in their first year as an associate member.  MU finished the year 14-5 overall and spent seven weeks of the season ranked nationally.  The Hawks offense thrived in Ercolino’s second year, fishing top-10 in the country in assists per game (4th; 2.68), points per game (6th; 8.79), goals per game (7th; 3.05), scoring margin (7th; 1.51) and scoring average (8th; 2.93).

The former forward started all 78 games of her career in a Monmouth uniform.  The local product, who was an all-league player for three straight seasons, finished her career ranking second in program history in assists (29), and sixth all-time in points (78) and goals (25).   Ercolino, who was a member of both the 2014 and 2016 championship teams, was tabbed the 2016 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, while also making an appearance on the NFHCA-All-Mid-Atlantic team that season.

Ercolino's responsibilities include practice planning and execution, travel preparation, scouting and compliance. Aside from in-game coaching and practices, Ercolino will evaluate potential student-athletes and monitoring academic progress.
